Moto X handsets can be customized in a variety of ways when it comes to colors and accents, but a wooden version of the handset, which was presented when the phone launched a few months ago, is still not available inside the Moto Maker.
However, that may soon change, as Motorola has just posted a teaser message on Twitter that seems to indicate that the wooden Moto X is coming.

“Put this DIY project on hold,” Motorola says, referring to an image that shows a sheet of wood on which a Moto X shape is drawn, waiting to be cut out. In other words, don’t make your own wooden Moto X back case, as an official one could soon arrive.
The company did not reveal more details in following tweets, so we have no idea when the wood versions would arrive, what kind of wood will be used, and how much they’ll cost.
Previous unconfirmed reports said that wood cases would retail for $ 50 on top of what the handset costs, and that Motorola was considering various wood options including teak, ebony, rosewood and bamboo.
