In the last week of November Motorola announced that the Moto G would be arriving earlier than the originally planned January timeframe, with shipping beginning around the 4th of December. Now that this date has came and went, Motorola has begun sending out emails alerting some folks that their orders will experience a slight delay, being pushed back as far as December 17th.
The reason for the delay is none other than winter storm Dion, which has affected much of the U.S. — including Motorola’s fulfillment center in Fort Worth, Texas. The good news is that the weather hasn’t messed with everyone’s orders, and some folks have already received their orders as expected.
For those that have yet to order the Moto G, you might be wondering if the $ 179 (16GB) handset is worth picking up. If your needs are relatively basic and you don’t have a fortune to spend, absolutely. If you have some extra cash and are looking for a more premium experience, you might want to save up a bit more and go for the Nexus 5.
