Last Friday we learned that the Verizon version of the HTC One Max had received technical approval on Big Red’s network, with HTC’s Mo Versi promising the update would likely start rolling out to users starting Monday. On schedule, the update is now live for most HTC One Max users.
Just like with the Sprint update for the One Max, there’s really not a lot new here. The One Max already ran Sense 5.5, so the only major change is Android 4.4.2 and the goodies that come with it such as immersive mode and several other changes. The change-log also makes note of a few device/carrier specific fixes and minor changes including a change for the way the notification light works and the inclusion of Verizon Cloud. Verizon’s full change-log can be read on the Verizon One Max support page.
While we are already hearing word that many folks have received notifications regarding this update, it’s still possible that it could take a few days before it reaches everyone. If you haven’t received a notification prompting you to download the KitKat update, you can manually check for an update by going into your device’s settings. Keep in mind that this is a fairly large update, so you’ll want to be on Wi-Fi in order to preserve your data.
Have you received the update for your HTC One Max yet? Any other carrier or device specific changes you’ve noticed that are worth mentioning? If so, be sure to tell us about them in the comments below!
