Galaxy Note 3 owners interested in trying out Android 4.4 KitKat on their devices can always go the CyanogenMod 11 route, as the first nightly builds for various carrier-branded versions of the phone have been released.

In case you own either a T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon or international LTE version of the handset, you can already download the appropriate CM11 nightly build (see Source link below) and test it out. The international GSM and AT&T versions are yet to receive their respective CM11 ROMs.

As for the official TouchWiz-infused Android 4.4 KitKat update for the Galaxy Note 3, we’ll remind you that Samsung has already started rolling it out, although it may take a while until carrier versions get it, especially in the U.S. Of course, if KitKat with TouchWiz on top is not your favorite avenue in the first place, then you can always take the custom ROM route.

As always with unofficial software for your smartphones, we’ll remind you that while we keep you updated on what the custom ROM community is working on, we won’t advise you to install any of these ROMs on your devices. That’s your decision to make, and you’re going to be responsible for whatever happens in the processes. In case you go down this route, make sure you backup your data first before proceeding with the CM11 install, and follow available instructions.

Have you installed CM11 on your Galaxy Note 3, or are you waiting for Samsung to release the official firmware for your handset?
