In case you didn’t know, Motorola has permanently dropped the price of its Moto X flagship handset to $399 (the 16GB version,) which is great news for those potential buyers that don’t want to ink new contracts with their carriers. However, it gets even better than that.
For a limited time, Motorola will throw in a free Chromecast with each off-contract Moto X purchase. That means for the $399 entry price you get a free dongle that otherwise retails for $35. Even if you already have one, considering how cheap it is, you can always benefit from having a second one around, or you can give it away to a friend. Either way, the deal is certainly one to follow.
The good news is that you can customize your Moto X just as you’d expect to, via the MotoMaker application. Furthermore, if you choose to buy a developer edition of the handset, you still get the free dongle. In case you were wondering, purchasing the 32GB Moto X model off-contract directly for Motorola.com will also get you a free Chromecast.
However, in order to receive the free dongle, you’ll have to make sure you purchase the handset directly from Motorola, add the Chromecast to your cart and then to enter the code STREAM when checking out – in case you forgot, Motorola sells the Chromecast directly on its website as well.
