Just yesterday Motorola released a new update to its Motorola Camera app, bringing a few new changes to the Moto X’s camera. Now Motorola’s Touchless Control app is also receiving an update.
The latest update for Touchless Control allows more Google Now commands to work on your handset, even if your phone is locked. That said, you’re private information like emails, messages and contacts can only be accessed after you provide a pin or password.
Today’s update also allows you to say your PIN out loud in order to unlock your device — obviously for those times when you’re somewhere where privacy isn’t a real concern. Aside from this, there’s also a new listening tone for when you say “OK Google Now”, and there’s some unspecified bug fixes.
It’s important to note that the latest Touchless Control app requires Android 4.4 KitKat to operate. This shouldn’t be a problem for most Moto X owners, as all U.S. Carriers have already rolled out the update. On the downside, Touchless Control-compatible Droid devices are still on Jelly Bean, meaning they can’t download this new update until Verizon rolls out KitKat.
To grab the update for yourself you’ll want to head on over to Google Play. For those that have already upgraded the app, what do you think of the changes?
