Samsung is rumored to launch a new Galaxy Grand family member at MWC 2014 – in addition to the Galaxy Grand and the Galaxy Grand 2 – the so-called Galaxy Grand Lite (model number GT-I9060).
Sam Mobile has apparently received information from one of its insiders that the Galaxy Grand Lite is “something of a cross Grand and Grand 2” handset. The device will reportedly pack a 5-inch WVGA display, 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB internal storage, microSD support, 5-megapixel camera, VGA front-facing camera 2100mAh battery and Android 4.2 or Android 4.3 Jelly Bean on board.
The phone is expected to come with dual-SIM support, at least in some markets, and will be available in various markets including white, “Midnight Black,” “Lime Green,” and orange. Curiously, the phone is said to actually launch around the fifth week of 2014, therefore weeks ahead of its MWC 2014 announcement. Pricing details have not been mentioned.
As you can see in the blurry image below, the Galaxy Grand Lite looks awfully similar to the Galaxy Grand 2 (top image), assuming of course that the leak is accurate.
We’ll remind you that this is just a rumor so far, and should be treated accordingly. We’ll be back with more details about the handset once it becomes official. Meanwhile, we can’t but wonder whether the world actually needs a Galaxy Grand Lite version. What do you think?
